GRC board Brings Traditional Japanese Construction Concepts to the IB Hub 2026 Event

GRC board showcases the versatility and flexibility of cement board through a creative installation featuring the ‘Komorebi’ concept at the Interior Design & Building Material Hub (IB Hub) 2026 event. This year’s event is being held at Great Western Residence (GWR) in Tangerang.

IB Hub 2026 serves as a platform to discover premium-quality building materials at affordable prices. Several leading brands of building materials and accessories are participating in this event.

The IB Hub 2026 event officially opened with a Grand Opening ceremony held on Friday, May 29, 2026. The opening ceremony featured a symbolic ribbon cutting and a casual discussion at the venue. The creative GRC board installation served as a comfortable gathering spot and captured the attention of visitors.

This year, the GRC board booth features a concept from Japan called “Komorebi,” which means sunlight filtering through the gaps between branches and leaves. Jeffry Tio, lead architect at Shen Studio, added that the cement board material supports the creation of this unique concept. Specifically, the table in the center of the booth was precisely shaped and cut so that it could be assembled without screws or nails. This assembly technique, known as “Kumitate,” was also adopted from Japan. Combined with the light from spotlights shining through each side of the panels, it adds a warm ambiance to the booth.
