The rainy season has arrived, are the walls of your house still safe from seepage or leaking? Leaking or seeping is usually one of the most common damage that often occurs in residential homes. This can be caused by cracks in the walls, leaking gutters, etc.

If there is a leak, of course, it will be a new problem for the residents of the house. The house can become flooded and damp, causing other problems such as the appearance of termites nesting in damp places, or the furniture (especially those made of wood) experiencing damage and weathering.

This time the GRC board will provide some tips for repairing leaky or leaking house walls. Here are some tips:

  1. Make sure the gutter where the water drain is not leaking and is not clogged. That serves to drain rainwater so that it does not accumulate in one part of the house, which ends up seeping and causing leaks.
  2. Using water-proofing, is one of the options most often done if the house has experienced a leak. Leak-proof coating or water-proofing can prevent the house from seeping for a certain period.
  3. Painting the wall that has 'cracked hair'. Hair cracks or fine cracks usually occur on the walls of the house due to shifts in soil texture, or building loads on the left and right sides. Therefore, if there are already cracked parts, it is better to paint them immediately.
  4. Improve the quality of plastering and plastering, and make sure that the wall plastering process is carried out until it is completely dry. That aims to avoid walls that easily seep.

In addition to carrying out these tips, it is better if from the beginning of the house construction process. we have chosen products that are proven to be waterproof and durable for long-term use. The cement board product (fiber cement board) from the GRC board has been proven to be waterproof and could use for a long time. So instead of bothering to patch a leaky house, it's better to use products that are guaranteed quality.
